To provide directions on where to route traffic, Cisco routers share routing table update information. You can use ACLs to limit which routes a router accepts or advertises to its counterparts.

RIPv2.
Example shows the syntax necessary to provide
RIPv2 filtering with an ACL.
Here a standard IP ACL is applied to RIP. Access list 12 is used to prevent R1 from advertising any routes of the 12.2.2.0
